Featured Shops - Heavenly Baubles

Heavenly Baubles will open on Friday Sept 19th with a BOGO...get your second item at 30% OFF!!

Heavenly Baubles, Christian inspired gifts and jewelry. The idea is that you can spread the word of His love if you choose or just use my creations to give you a constant reminder that you are loved.

The store will contain jewelry(baubles as Nikki's Grandma always called it), bags and more. The jewelry will consist of "Life of Christ" and "The Key to Salvation" charm bracelets and much more inspired by His Love throughout the environment or His sacrifices for us.
The bags will carry the "Can you hear Him now?" theme...appliqued or stitched Cross bars to symbolize your connection with Him(such as the cellular connection bars).

Nikki, the creator of Heavenly baubles has this to say:

I want people to wear my creations and on a really bad day at the office or stuck in traffic, I want them to look at their wrist...catch a glimpse of what was sacrificed for them and remember His Love for them. I want people to remember they are loved, every second of every day. Im not your typical "Christian", I tell bad jokes and I scream and curse...I tell it like it is and this is who I am...I am still His child and I have dreams...my dream is for you to realize that you are special just the way you are!

Tyndall Base Exchange and other places you may find me.

I put in my application to be a vendor at the Tyndall BX. My friend and fellow etsian, Sarah from mrsdstahl has also applied and we are anxiously awaiting word from the man in charge. As of right now they are moving some internal vendors around and once that is complete we should know more.

I have been working hard the last few days to complete two large keychain orders. I have a goal to make approx 260 keychains and pouches for 2 different promotional sample packs. The first is Little Black Boxes. I am hoping to complete 200 promotional items for their October box. I am excited about the possible inclusion as it can only help spread the word about Sygnet Creations. The other sample box company is The Spotted Box. I just heard back from Tory and I am signed up for their October box aswell.

After I am done working on these items it is time to get my butt in gear and list more pillows and blankets. Right now I have 6 travel pillows waiting for their final stitching. My goal is to have 20+ pillows in each size available by mid October. It is a day by day project and I am confident in my abilities to do just that or more. Blankets are another issue entirely. I am thinking of only listing a few more before the holiday rush. Around Christmas I receive more custom orders then actually in stock purchases so I think this will work out better. Here is to a productive rest of August and many sales in the months to come! =)

Recycled Fashion.. The fun continues

Yes I am at it again. I started playing with more military uniforms and I wanted to show them off. This first one is a sling/shoulder bag and I think it turned out pretty cute. It has an elongated body with a fixed twisted strap and cuff closure. Definite conversation starter! I also used some left over Amy Butler fabric in the lacework print. Below are pictures showing how the cuff can be opened and closed to secure the contents of the bag. I listed the bag at $15.95 usd + shipping. If you click the image above you can see more views and measurements.

I also made a butterfly print cuff. Not quite reversible as I am unsure how you would button it up... none the less it is still cool in my eyes =) It is available for sale in my Etsy shop. Clicking the image will take you right to the listing!
and another handbag. This one is my favorite style. I am going to make more of these!! This one however is not for sale. You see it isn't up to my sellable standards. It has very noticeable stitching and a mistake in the handle... I love it just the same. I use it as my personal handbag. I have gotten a lot of compliments and I always keep my business cards handy.

The bag was made using 4 shirt pockets, black and red cherry cotton lining, red cotton inside pocket, and shirt collars for the handles.

Recycled Fashions.. Fun with Uniforms.

Last night I had friends over for Lasagna and we chatted about a bag she really really wanted to make. It was a messenger style bag with pockets but she wanted it made from her boyfriends military uniform. The more she talked the more excited I was to try and make the bag of her dreams. He just so happened to have 5 or so old uniforms in his truck that we could cut up! So I handed her scissors and we started cutting the pieces we wanted to add to her bag. Here is what we created. I know it seems a bit off-kilter but she wanted it to be fun and didn't care if the colors clashed or how it looked.. She loves it!! It is made with the Air Force BDU top , pockets, rank, and reflective belt.

This morning I wanted to see what I could make from the pants I had left over. I looked at the pockets on the pants and thought it would make a great little bag. The one below is made with two BDU bottoms using 4 pockets, fabric and handles.

The inside was made using a place mat in a bright yellow daisy print.
The outside pockets make up all 4 sides of the bag and a fully usable!
I really like how this bag turned out =)
And as an added bonus it is Reversible!!

Branding and other goals!

Recap on my goals and my success with branding my business

  • 300 sales over the course of the year

Almost there..Honestly I still get all chocked up with each and every sale from my shop. I am honored that others find my items to be both quality and something they truly desire.

  • Advertise on a larger scale (buy add space, brochures, promo items)

I signed up Project Wonderful not to long ago and I find it very easy to advertise to a wide range of consumers. I sell and buy ad space through their website and it is fun and rewarding.

  • Brand my products (custom shipping boxes, labels, and other promotional tools) COMPLETED
  • Start offering Custom Embroidery Services

Eventually.. Yes it will happen because I really have my heart set on this one =) My plan is to purchase this awesome machine so that I can add my logo to each and every product I make! My husband has been a wonderful support of this specific goal as he has set up a fund so that I can have my new machine =) * sorry he's mine!

  • Create an entirely new line of travel products COMPLETEDe seen the Key Fob Pouches in my shop recently. They are the new travel line I have available. On top of travel goodies, I have recently added Aprons for use at craft show and markets. I have one more new pro Oops Can't Forget these goals before I move:
  • Organizing a Craft Show for Tyndall AFB and the surrounding community. (We are hoping for May 17th 2008) So if you live in the area or plan to be in the area around that date shoot me a message)
  • I would like to set up a booth at the local AAFES. It is the military one stop shopping center and a great place to snag a few local customers.
  • I am going to have a Blow Out Moving Sale right before I close shop in June or July to help alleviate the stress of packing and shipping all my products up north.

Thanks for Reading and come back to see the new product unveiled April 21st!!

Getting started right!

Okay so one of my goals is to have my products branded with a custom logo. I have already started this process by commissioning my brother (a wonderful artist) to create my company logo. Next step was to price shipping and packaging supplies for my items. While searching I came across a few online stores that I really enjoyed. Associated Bags has a wonderful selection and I like how they offer free samples for me to choose the perfect bag! I ended up getting a very good deal from Buy Plastic Bags Direct. I got 1000 bags for $50 which included my shipping charges. Now I am working on printing my logo on stickers for closing the bags. Making new business cards, and eventually a new banner and avatar for my shop. I am very excited and anticipating my brother's completed work. I will post more once he is done. He will be giving me 3 choices so be prepared to help me pick the very best one. I am hoping when this process is completed my business will finally feel more “real”.

I am not sure if you read or not but I just stepped over the 100 Sales mark!! I was in shock. I am getting closer to reaching my very first goal. Here is the list of goals I plan to achieve this year…Yes a tall task but then again it wouldn‘t be a goal if I didn‘t aim high!

  • 300 sales over the course of the year
  • Advertise on a larger scale (buy add space, brochures, promo items)
  • Brand my products (custom shipping boxes, labels, and other promotional tools)
  • Start offering Custom Embroidery Services
  • Create an entirely new line of travel products COMPLETED

I did reach one goal…I created a new product just the other day! Key Fob and matching Pouches. They are my new line and perfect for on the go. I will keep up with these goals and check them off as they are completed. Thanks for reading =)
